About Burned Wood Creations

Hi,

I’m Alice, the maker behind Burned Wood Creations. I create handmade wooden gifts and keepsakes with pyrography, rustic charm and a love of nature-inspired designs.

My journey with pyrography began when I was just eleven years old. Years later, I rediscovered it as a way to slow down and unwind after work, and it quickly became much more than a hobby. It became a way to reconnect with the countryside that has always been part of my life.

Growing up surrounded by nature, I was incredibly lucky to see wildlife up close. Red squirrels would visit our doorstep, a badger set just down the road, and even today I still enjoy spotting deer and hares in the fields beside my home. Those everyday moments continue to inspire almost everything I create.

Each piece is individually hand burned onto natural wood using traditional pyrography techniques. Rather than fighting against the character of the wood, I work with it. The grain, colour and texture all influence the finished design, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly alike. I love that every slice of wood adds its own story to the artwork.

For me, Burned Wood Creations is about more than decorating wood. It's about celebrating the beauty of British wildlife, creating timeless pieces that bring a little of the countryside into your home, and sharing the quiet joy that nature has always given me.

Thank you for supporting handmade.
